well, i am back and still thoroughly conflicted, with my heart/loyalties as divided as ever.
please welcome me back, hear me out, and make me feel as welcomed as before.. the wtbts has changed so very much in recent years that i feel trapped in a completely different religion altogether.
I used to dream about fading but my relatives are heavy into it, really heavy duty involvement, Warwick and all.
I have developed an unique coping mechanism that works for my psyche, so I will go on with it for the duration.
Thanks for this wonderful outlet which confirms I am not alone.

me and my wife are still "in".
we had the "talk" a couple of times, but shet is not ready to leave yet.
while a couple of years ago she started crying on the thought that i am an "apostate" and even gave me an ultimatum until she would rat me out to the elders (never happened), now i sense that she might is a little bit more open to the the thought to leave one day .... anyway, all out friends and family are still in the truth and whenever we are meeting with other witnesses topic #1 is always the recent changes to the meetings / conventions (reduced to one day) which always lead to the changes to the magazines and the recent lay offs of the special pioneers and bethelites.

This generation will not be robbed as mine was of their right to educate themselves as much as possible and to pursue their passion in terms of education.

dear jehovah's witnesses and on-the-fencers.. isn't it even a little bit obvious that the watchtower organisation doesn't have jehovah's blessing?.
if it did, why are your leaders, the governing body, asking you for your money and assets?
surely, jehovah would provide for the organisation without having to use your hard earned money and assets?.
It would surprise you to know the large amount inside that feel is just one more faith and just hang around for the community feel of it, or because of entrapment really.
This is how I have been able to survive inside for all these decades; kindred spirits that know the real deal and carry on with our lives as best as possible.

i hear of these stories of elders swapping wives, i remember when i was young hearing of three elders in florida doing this and getting dfed.
my question is this how is it possible to bring this up in conversation?
it seems impossible, how can there be multi elders that know each other willing and the wives?
Never heard anything of this magnitude. Not impossible, though. In any large conglomerate all kinds will exist.

it embarrassed me.
when i was young my folks made me wear one and i opened it up and took the paper out making it look like it fell out.
after my folks ask what happen i said i dont know.
Wear the little badge still. However, not after the program when dining or out and about. Don't wear JW attire afterwards either, just very casual clothing. Many do likewise which tells me a great deal do not and will not follow the strict teachings of the WTBTS in many instances.

i'm in a crazy situation.
about a year ago, i was going to get baptized.
it was all planned and arranged until ttatt was learned.
My heart breaks for you. So many JWs force baptism on their youngsters. I feel your pain.
Can you go away to school, get a good enough paying job to allow you to get a roommate at least?

when i think about where i am at now in my life, in my marriage, with my kids.
why did i get involved with this cult?
i have brought out the cult personality in my wife and there no turning her back.
They lure you in ever so softly, as if with hypnosis; by the time one realizes it, trapped, it is too late.
Then, being the born-in type, the indoctrination runs so very deep that is nearly impossible to scape without being all screwed up emotionally. A mess, indeed.
There was this person in my cong that seemed poised to become a JW, ready for baptism; then disappeared without a trace or cause. Recently, I saw her out and about and she seemed fine, so happy. I am so glad that she woke up in time.
The few hours I devote to service, are done in a way as to not recruit a single soul. There sincerely is no true joy in the JW lifestyle.

There are no "good old days" in this religion for sure, this I know.
